AquaSocks water in fuel absorber

Anyone else seen or tried this yet? I ran across an ad in a magazine this evening. The cloth sock contains a chemical which turns to gel when it absorbs water. You put it in your fuel tank, through an access plate or sender plate and leave it for 24 hours while the boat is not in motion. Then you pull it out with the attached string and discard it. $17 plus shipping for the 12 Oz. size (ad says it soaks up 12 ounces of water). A larger 28 Oz. size is also available. If your interested, their web site is www.harbormarine.biz. If it works like they claim it might be a good item to start the boating season out after a winter lay up. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has tried it or has any thoughts on it. If not, I will probably order one and and report back.
