Hello all:

Has anyone found a portable battery power pack with 800 watts ? That would run my coffee maker.

Thanks for your responses.

Ken

You could get a 1000 watt power inverter and run about 800 watts off your 12v battery system if the coffee maker is 120v. I run an 800w microwave off mine.

Try a 12 volt coffee maker--and some extra batteries. 800 watts will pull down most battery banks pretty fast. You have to have some way to charge the batteries.
I doubt if you will find a self contained battery bank/inverter of 800 watts which is economical and light weight.

Better yet, just go with a perculator on the stove, or filter made coffee.

I bought a inexpensive coffee press I found in the camping section of Gander Mountain and use a kettle on the stove to heat the water. I had never used a coffee press but found I really like the coffee from it so I bought a second for home use. I considered the 12 volt models but was told they take a long time to brew the coffee.

I use a Nissan (SS insulated) coffee press and like it very much. The Admiral uses the Italian stovetop expresso thingie that Roger found.

Diana and I use a Melitta cone filter that has a neck that will stick down into a thermos. We just heat the water, pour it into the filter and put the lid in. Works great. I found mine at a Portland kitchen store.
