It just occurred to me that fellow C-brats may not be familiar with but might make use of the forecast maps presented by Victoria wind surfer "Big Wave Dave". He takes the U of W model data and makes maps of the Salish Sea area that are coded to wind strength.
The main forecast page is http://www.bigwavedave.ca/forecasts.php. If you click on any of the hourly links, this takes you to a map of the area such as this one:
http://www.atmos.washington.edu/mm5rt/data/2013090500/load.cgi?images_d3/ww_wssfc.22.0000.gif (this link may not work forever!)
I use this site alot for my kayaking trips but it is also good for planning trips in my CD22. The predicted2 and wind model tabs are also interesting.
