For anybody new to the site, or just getting back from cleaning up your Hurricane damage, please take a moment to admire the new link "The Brat Map" on the top of the screen.
Within a week there has been an avalanche of support for this feature.
I'll bet it passes 200 soon, so spread the word!

And all bow to Da Nerd.

Fair Winds...

New Guy,
Thanks for pointing that out. Pretty slick I say. DaNerd is a genius!!!!

OK, I added Daydream to the map early on, and then there was that deal about Firefox, which got fixed. But now I do not seem to be there, or I am covered up, I don't know - is Daydream "on the map"??

Pat
You're not on there yet, for some reason.

Pat - you have not updated your profile to include a zip code. Once you do, you should be there.

Uh oh, Pat. I think the nerd just told you to zip it.

Pat is going for the record for number of posts I think. So He will NOT zip-it. IMHO.

Pat,

You aren't on the map due to not putting in a home zip code for your profile. I had to add mine to my profile and then it shows right up!

How long does it take after putting one's zip code into one's profile before one shows up on the Brat Map? I put our home port zip code in our profile several weeks ago and the Cosmic C still has not shown up on the map,

Patrick

Patrick, when I entered my zip code a pushpin was almost instantaneous. One thing you can try - go to your Profile and delete your zip code then select (click on Submit). Give the server a few minutes to update, then enter your zip code again and click on Submit again. Then give it a few minutes again and see if you have a pushpin. If not it will take Bill or Mike to fix it for you.

Dave:

Just tried that and still no stick pin.

Patrick

Strange one, Patrick...

The database is dynamic - push pins appear immediately upon updating your profile with a zip code, and boat information.

In your case, there was no entry in our lat/lon database for your zip code. The zip code database I'm using is from the US Census, not sure why it doesn't include a lat/lon for your zip. Is your zip code relatively new?

No matter, I manually entered approximate lat/lons for your zip code into the database, your pin is now on the map.

Just love that new map...but I'm all alone, smack dab in the middle of the USA.

Perhaps when one of you drives through for a visit, you will be sure to let me know.

I know... I'll post C-Dory signs as if going to Wall Drug. Hmmm, wonder how far out the first Wall Drug billboard is from their exit...

Many thanks, Bill! We always knew that upstate NY is on the margins of everything, but not that we don't exist.

There might be some significance to the Cosmic in Cosmic C??
