Mike is working the travel legs for the Nashville gathering. Having not been on a "convoy of C-Dorys" when multi size boats are participating, on inland smooth water,,, what is a "good" speed for THE GROUP to travel??? 10, 12, 15, 18mph??? Thanks

Byrdman, havent been out with more than 2 other CDs but in convoys, the usual speed is that of the slowest boat/ship. In our case, I'd think it would/should be the slowest speed at which any of the members felt comfortable.

Of course, the convoys I've been in also have a rule that if someone gets torpedoed :smileo , you have to leave them behind.

Byrdman, what I've noticed on our "convoy cruises" is that regardless of C-Dory size they are all (with the possible exception of the Tom Cat), compatible for the same speeds. The speeds on my 16' were the same as those on the 19's, 22's and 25's etc. So we all cruised well together. (Again the seas dictate the hull speed). Our only exception was Brock, because he is a "laid back, smell the roses :rose2 , kinda guy" and probably gets consistently better mileage than anyone else. (So whether you're running at 8 knots or 18 knots, you'll be just like a tight knit "pod of whales"). If the seas got a little rough, I'd "draft" the 16' in behind a larger vessel.
