Cabin door handle removal

Has anyone repaired a cabin door and removed the existing handle? The round side has a small hole that looks like the release but I'm having a hard time figuring it out.
Thanks.

Allen key on the inside knob / pull, square shaft & other end pulls out then take the 2 screws out of the lock set & slide it out.

If you have a 1993 (as in your name on the left), then you wouldn't have a door like Colobear. They had the full glass door that came along circa 2006.

I'm guessing you either have the Starboard door, like in my 2002; or maybe the "wood look" door, which may be constructed similarly. They both have a half window in the top.

That said, I have not removed the door latch.

Thanks everyone. It is an old wood panel door.
The Allen screw on round handle is stripped.

Swing by carquest pick up A left hand twist drill bit & drill it out slowly. More often than not the bit will catch & screw the piece right out. Worst case the gear shed has the whole assy in stock.
Have a good one.

So FYI the handle was totally seized and we ended up snapping it off.
So now I need to find a replacement. I assume that will mean a whole new lock since finding just the handles may be to hard.

When I was looking for replacement keys for our door, I found the website "Ugly Fish". It looks like they have a lot of replacement parts for locks, keys etc. Maybe this page may help?

I also need to find a replacement lock set for my CD 22 door. Perko shows one in their catalog (Series 0731) that is a direct replacement (size wise), but is much higher quality ($$$) than the original. Does anyone know where a replacement can be had for the original flush lock set?

Thanks,

Bob

Did you look at the ones at Ugly fish?

http://www.uglyfishinc.com/southco-mobe ... xxx-x0.htm

That page, shows the various types and versions of the Mobella, locks which many or our boats have. Not sure about the 1997--because they have changed locks thru the years.

I found it at Ugly Fish, Inc.
It is a South Co. product... Mobella Offshore Flush door latch.
Part No. ME-01-410-60
This is an aluminum, left opening outward
keyed lock
Cost for the door handle is $99.95 with 16.45 added on for the key lock.
Shipping if free
No sales tax if you don't live in Florida

Thanks for the Ugly Fish referral!!!

Hey just a heads up that we tried to order this door handle hardware from Ugly Fish and they never shipped it. It was $260, and four months later we're still waiting to receive. Ugly Fish doesn't respond to emails or phone calls. We're not sure if they went out of business, or what happened, but definitely don't order replacement door handles from Ugly Fish.
