Some time ago there was a discussion here regarding contamination of drinking water at Camp Lejeune. I happened to come across the fact that the VA now has distinct category of eligiblilty for Marines who served at Camp Lejeune from the 1950s to the 1980s. Here's the entire VA document

Also important:

Eligible survivors of veterans whose death resulted from a service-related injury or disease may be paid "Dependency and Indemnity Compensation", currently $1,319.11 per month.
 
I have a relative who died young from liver cancer and who was based there during that period. Now I'll always wonder if that was the cause. Sad in any case and the coverup is disgraceful.
