This morning I posted pictures of Killer Whales that we saw in August while just out of Friday Harbor, Wa. The pix are now in the "Sea Shift" album. I particularly like the one my wife took of the Orca heading straight at "Sea Shift". (Kinda looks like a submarine on a collision course with us!)

Rev. Dave is too modest to post the pic, I guess, so here it is (how scary is THAT? - Yikes!)

DaveS - that is an impressive photo.
How close before she turned off?
How close was she when this picture was taken?

Our recollection is that the Orca was approx. 50 feet away. Had the camera recorded the "action" just a moment before we would have "caught" the Orca's head in the picture. The Orca went under "Sea Shift". I looked at the depth on the sonar in that area shortly after and we were in varying depths ranging from 25 to 40 feet of water.

awesome shot Dave.... had to be a thrill. chance of a life time that many can only dream of. What a blessing.

Very cool! Suggest it go on C-Dory home page with the line:

"C-Dory: $XX,XXX
Close encounter with Orcas: Priceless."

Thanks for sharing it with us Dave!
