Tlhe chain gypsy's are calibrated for 1/4" HT chain. The links of BBB are shorter. It may slip and damage both the gypsy (damage to the spurs on the gypsy) and the chain (knock off some galvanizing). There is also some safety issue of the chain slipping.
I would buy what every amount of chain you need in 1/4" High Test (G 4). 50 feet is usually plenty of a C dory, followed by the amount of line you need for the customary depths of water.
