theoretically these things should generate 38 amps from the alternator, more than enough to charge more than one battery. does anyone have feedback on this?

I charge 2 g31's & 2 g24's off the alt. on my DF175 batt. s/w on both or all, works great 10 yrs now

The 90 HP Honda pre 2007 only put out 17 amps. The newer and higher HP put out 44 amps. I only had larger Suzuki's but they also put out in the 40 amp range--you will be fine with several batteries. Use a Voltage Sensitive Relay, if the outboard does not have a secondary charging circuit, between the engine start and house battery. On a 16 often "multipurpose batteries" are used and should be of the same type, size and age for best results.
