The cooler insert under my Captain's chair on my 2006 22' Cruiser had the door broken off when I bought the boat and I want to replace it. I called C Dory and the new owners do not know the source since they now use a fridge as an option and not the old cooler compartment. Any ideas on how to get a replacement? There is no ID on the insert but maybe on the door if anyone has one. Open to other options as well.

Most owners do not use the "ice box" under the helm seat. We used outs for dry storage in the '93, C Dory 22. Our 2006 boat just has shelves, and we use an ice chest in the cockpit (as well as a Dometic 12V/ 110V Ref/Freezer in the cockpit).

You can search the internet for vertical ice chests for boats.

In my photo gallery I replaced the cooler with a microwave and storage. Have plenty pictures of the process.

One of the best and simplest things we've done on our 22 was to put the porta potty between the fuel tanks and shove a 96 (100?) quart cooler into its old spot.
The cooler has a small lid on one end of the big lid that is accessible without pulling the cooler out.

Chester, do you know the make/model of your cooler?

It is an Igloo, 5 or so day rated, whatever that means.
It raises the V-birth insert up just a bit when is is shoved under it.
