Any advice on which cross bars or work best to put across top of Tomkat from stainless rails so you can put kayaks and such and maybe a roof box on top? Even an ad how system would be fine.

They make a hinged "T" for rail fittings. Maybe 4 of those & 2 pieces of matching diameter stainless tubing?? :thup

Plain old Thule crossbars and risers work just fine.

We have Yakima racks on top of Mistaya. They came with the boat and work well. See our album for photos.

Question becomes, are these rails 3/4 or 7/8?

Measured mine as 3/4 but all available parts seem to be 7/8

Could just be my poor eyesight

Don't have calipers either

Diameter = circumference/3.14

7/8" rail has a circumference of 2.75".

3/4" rail has a circumference of 2.36".

Did the calculations

Still don't know what I've got

Too blind to see

Oh, "circumference"

Must have read it wrong

makes perfect sense

Headed to local marine mfg today to see what he can fabricate

Be nice to have radar arch along with rack for two kayaks

I've got both Thule and Yakima racks

Yakima's are from my old F-350 and Chevy Van rain gutters

Hundreds of dollars worth sitting out for years though

Probably rusted to crap by now

Edit for double post

In lieu of arch I'm having a radar post built to go behind the spot light

And 72" aluminum rails made for the kayak rack

I wanted to use the yakima towers and rails I already had but the towers were not high enough to clear the top (it goes up in the middle) so I used a piece of pvc pipe to raise them just enough to clear the top. I have hully rollers in the back to bring the kayaks down to a crossbar over the rear cleats with a roller bar to put them in the water or retrieve them. http://imageshack.com
