Today, we launched at Washington Park for a family San Juan Cruise. We motored up to Sucia, where we enjpyed lunch on "Sea Shift" at the dock. Then we cruised around the "top" of Orcas Island to Roche Harbor then on around to Haro Straits. When we got near Lime Kiln Lighthouse we encountered a pod of Killer Whales. We drifted down with the pod all the way to Cattle Point. We had our engines off and I was sitting on the roof of "Sea Shift" when two whales that were swimming side by side passed within 10 feet of our bow.

Hey Dave

I wonder if these Orca were just curious and wanting to get a closer look at a human.... or, they're thinking that you might look somewhat like a seal sitting on top of a small iceberg.. lunch?

We want to see some whales this weekend!!!!! we don't get to see to many whales in the Columbia.

Send some to the Right Coast too!! We only have jellyfish on the Chesapeake/Potomac right now. Matter of fact, Sally got stung :disgust :disgust by some this past weekend looking for some sunken sunglasses. Cortisone Creame works well by the way So does wine and Vodka :cocktail ....
