I'm going fishing next week and am thinking about doing some of it on the Canadian side (I have a BC license already that I purchased in Tofino). I'm looking for designated Ports of Entry on Vancouver Island but can't seem to find a list of them. Ideally, Bamfield would be good but I don't think there's a customs office there. What about Port Renfrew? Anyone know of the closest (by boat) Designated Port of Entry on Vancouver Island from Neah Bay? (or where I can find a list or maps of such). I want to clear customs so I can stay on that side of the Strait and/or stop in to get a license for a buddy of mine.

We always called in from the phone on the dock in Bamfield next to the Coast Guard buildings. Right in front of the little store. Hopefully that hasn't changed.

Any other insight on this? Can I just go straight to Bamfield and clear customs there?

I don't have it here at the brewery where I am eating lunch, but you should check Waggoner Guide. It has the official scoop on clearing customs and immigration in Canada. Victoria, Sydney and Bedwell Harbour (summer only) and of course White Rock and Vancouver are the ones I remember, I don't know about on the West Coast...Give Canada a call, unless it has changed, the number is 1-888-226-7277 (in my speed dial for checking in at White Rock)

I found this..

just called and you can check in at ucluelet by phone at the dock.

I have struggled with that list lately and how incomplete it is. Why is Ucleluet not listed for BC? They told me to call and that there was no better, more complete, or detailed list published so there goes the ability to easily plan ahead. Canadian telephone jobs initiative maybe....

that long list is just for nexus passes. not all port are on the nexus system .

Thanks guys - I just called also and was told that my two options were Victoria or Ucluelet. About 60 miles from Neah Bay.

We just got the Can pass and the same loose list seems to apply based on my less than productive conversion with a young canadian lady this morning.
