Finally bought a tow vehicle

It's been a long time coming, but with the birth of little Tristan last fall, and Kiera getting too big to ride comfortably in the back seat of my 4-cylinder Toyota pickup, and the ongoing need to actually USE my boat trailer, we bought something bigger.

It's a Toyota Sequoia, with the third row of seating. I haven't owned a V-8 since I sold my grandfather's 1970 Lincoln Continental. 15 mpg...ouch!

Anyway, we're thinking we'll do a slightly different style of boating now. MORE trips of SHORTER duration to destinations FURTHER away. You know..."trailer boating"! Gosh, what a concept, eh?

I have a v8 addiction, personally. I won't buy a truck (even all of my '60-'66 trucks) without one, and my wife's Cherokee is a 2005 Hemi :D

congrats on the new addition (saw the pic in the photo album too), and the new tow rig! I agree with you, I toyed with the idea of a less expensive boat that was moored, but trailering makes more sense for our family.

HI Tim,

Congrats on the new tow rig. I am looking forward to hearing how real world towing goes with this as it has been in the back of my mind also. (I like the enclosed everything -- like a van -- more than a pickup.

Enjoy your Sequoia Tim. We have a 2008 Sequoia powered by the V8. It is nimble and easy to drive, and tows our Venture beautifully. You won't be sorry.

Toyotas have a good [quality] rep and re-sale value. It's nice to have something reliable and up to the job. The fuel stops suck, but whatcha gonna do? :|
