Finally opened an album

I finally emailed Tyboo last week and asked to have an album set up.
I have started to post some pictures Sorry guys, no pictures of the fairer sex yet, but they will come.
Something went sideways and I have now have an "untitled" set of pictures on the main page. I have managed to delete the pictures but can't take the "untitled part away. These pictures were doubles of what I had already downloaded.

When I decided to upgrade my helm seat I noticed galvanized washers under the seat after I unbolted it.
2 on each of the front 2 screws and 1 on each of the back two.
I put them back when I put the seat back in, just wondering if anybody knows what they do.
The seat base looks like it will sit flat to the cupboard base...

The album looks great! I am not that famillar with the 1981 classic construction, so I am wondering about the torque and weight of the new 115 HP motor, with the rebuild. Are you going back with balsa or another core material. Are you going with epoxy on the inside glass, and how thick? Are you going to spread some of the load into the motor well side walls? How about the bottom of the well--hatch vs glassing over with core?

Are you going to deck over the sides of the aft portion like the newer boats?

I ran a 115 hp on my 1983 Classic for 17 yrs. No problems doing it. The 90 hp Honda that I replaced it with did a better job of handling the boat with a large improvement in fuel economy.

The motor well repair came up when I had the boat in getting some minor gelcoat repair done.
The laminate on top of the motor bracket mounting area had separated and water had gotten in.
We dug until we got back to good wood (balsa) and then replaced it with plywood to match the existing thickness and glassed over that.
Haven't had any flexing issues or stress cracks that I can see.
This work was done 3 years ago when we still had the 1988 88HP Johnson.
When it finally blew a head gasket 2 years ago we upgraded to the 115 4 stroke.
At the time I still had my original single axel trailer and yes, tongue weight became a problem.
I moved the post as far ahead as I could but still had problems going faster than 50 KMH.
The rest of my trailer story is in another thread, so won't repeat it here.
In regards to closing in the stern on either side of the motor well, I am undecided.
If money wasn't an object, I would love to put a full width Armstrong bracket on the back and open up the entire cockpit.

I will be downloading my latest motor adventure tonight, stayed tuned!!

Thanks--glad it worked out well--I assumed that it was a current repair.

I agree that opening up the full aft cockpit and putting on a bracket (can even be made of plywood and glass--so not so expensive...) would make it an entirely different boat.
