Finishing Plywood Edges

I am in the process of building drawers in the old ice-box hole. I purchased a sheet of the Decraguard plywood to use. The question: does anyone know what the factory uses on the raw edges of the plywood? It is a perfect color match to the surface finish on my 2002 cruiser. I have noticed on later models most edges were teak trimmed, but on mine they painted something on all the edges. Any ideas appreciated.

When I did some work on my boat, I just took a piece of the Decraguard to the local Home Depot and had them do a color match. Then then mixed me up a quart of perfectly color matched latex paint that I used on the plywood edges. All came out great.

You might also check the iron on edge strips also available at Home Despot. Usually back where the melamite boards are sold. The off white color is a pretty good match.
 
Does anyone know where Decragaurd can be purchased in the Portland Or area?
 
On woodworking projects the iron on edging has worked very well for me. More choices are available at WoodCraft and Wood Workers Warehouse than the big boxes. Using a flush trim bit on a router or roto-zip type tool makes for a neat trim job if iron on edging is on center which should put edges just proud enough to trim. They also have an edge trimmer with a razor blade in a right angle housing so edge is square. Have the edges trimmed tight is important so it can't be pried off if someone should catch a loose edge. Good luck on the project.
 
Thanks everyone for the ideas. I will probably go with the paint. I would think the veneered edges on drawer fronts might get chipped or picked loose. If I can get a good paint match, the job would be quick and easy and would match the edges of the galley cabinet doors. Thanks.
