I recon about a ton yesterday... the ol' Classic still kikin oz! :)

Hey Greg, Good to see you aren't treating that boat like a decoration. Just wondering, ever thought about pulling a log boom, or a single stick and then cutting it up on the home turf? Just thinking. Good to see you back here, and I do enjoy your video talent.

Yep! BTDT. Thank you for the welcome :) I should show my loggin pix a few years ago :) my problem is i go out, then get greedy! :P I can't stop at just a few chunks :smileo I find there is no other place on earth or no other thing I'd rather be doing when its nice out... :rainbow

I burned wood for 28 years, and cut and hauled it in may ways and vehicles, even a canoe, but so far -- not in my C-Dory

Looks like nice wood too.

Nice! You know if you would haul your 8lb maul out with you on the boat you coulda' split it all on shore and fit more in the boat (instead of loafing and splittin' with the press)

i know! :D 3 days ago I cut them in 4 section lengths and had to float them out, lifting one end at a time... no liftin' 300 pounders for me! the rest might have to be split in half at least, Im always trying to beat the tide... also, that pine is some super stringy knotty stuff, the motorized splitter is best for there! :xseek

Greg, seeing your pix, makes me verrrry happy with my way of gathering firewood. I have the luxury of driving the tractor into the woods, wrapping a choker around a wind fallen tree (Usually lose a few in the wind), yard the tree next to where I stack the wood......then cut, split, and stack.

Unfortunately, my method deprives me of a boat ride....

Dave, hearing your description makes me verrrry happy with my way of gathering firewood. I have the luxury of perusing craigslist, and a nice guy with a truck drops it off in the back yard.

Unfortunately, my method deprives me of $150.

LOL, well most trolling here is pretty sad compared to up north where commercial fishing was squelched cuz of the Exon Valdez spill (?) and like here - over-fished commercially again :( firewood is like a part time job I absolutely :love

We have alternative ways of heating, but nothing beats a soapstone stove :smilep

I finished up the load today, all split and stacked, it looks like a touch over a half cord yesterday! The rest of the tree out there, I think I'll split with the saw, maybe even get wise and plan more time out. I got another idea brewin :xtongue
