first sea trials of electric C-Dory 22

I finally got all the wires hooked up correctly and was able to take our new C-Dory 22 cruiser for its first run. I was windy in Budd Inlet (15-20 mph) but we were still able to get good data on performance. At 5mph we were using 1600 watts, so at that speed I would have a range of about 45-50 miles with my 20kWh of batteries. Top speed was 6.8 mph at 5800 watts using the two E-propulsion Navy 3.0 motors I have. I have posted a picture looking out the back at 5.5 mph and a graph of our data in the album under my name.

what was the difference in speed going into the wind, and down wind? Did you run in any chop? If so, how did that effect efficiency and speed/Range,

Thank you

It was quite windy and the wind was "boxing" the compass from W to SSW and back, so I could not collect more detailed data. This often happens in Budd Inlet in Olympia WA because of the land.

The data I graphed was in a strong chop with the wind coming at the boat between 10 and 12 on a clock. I only had one data point for going downwind and that was in the lee of the west shore.
