Fishing marina Massachusetts or Conneticut

In 2017 considering a seasonal slip in this general area. Not familiar with area. Would want a slip with power and water. Mostly interested in good fishing, any info on marinas and what fish are there, cod, Pollock ect. How far do you have to go out? Also thinking about Sandy Pond on lake Onieda as second choice. Really any ideas for decent fishing New England states.

Larry, I live in metro Boston and have been summering in Cape Cod since I was born. There is world class fishing around Marthas Vineyard, Nantucket and basically all around Cape Cod. There is also great fishing north of Boston (Gloucester, Newburyport etc).

I'm not an avid fisherman (although I do drop a line occasionally) and I'm also a noobie boater. I'd suggest that you join the "The Hull Truth" forum. Those guys could answer your question in greater detail and there's even a Northeast area subsection.

I'm a member on THT; also Bob (Thataway) and a few AK brats. There is probably more too but I never saw them; it's a big forum. LOL

Thanks good to hear about the fishing being good, also naming a few places helps me to research them. Will check out THT. Years ago talked to a bait store owner and he fished up there somewhere, had a lot of photos of his catch, but he did charters. We stayed 3 seasons at Cayuga need to start finding new marinas. This season will be at Lake Erie.
