Flying flags

Hello y'all...
If anyone has a suggestion on where and how to attach and fly a power squadron flag on a 19 Angler .....much appreciated.
Thanks
Martin

We have a small staff on our bow rail. It either flies the C Brat burgee or a Hawaii state flag. Makes enough of an irritating racket with the slightest breeze that the flag/burgee is rolled up at night. I think it's a Seadog brand. Just the black mount stays put permanently. It's very simple and non-nondescript.

Martin,

Check these out, http://www.westmarine.com/buy/west-mari ... ecordNum=2

Don't buy the cheap ones with the crimped post. Go for the more expensive ones with the thicker walled posts that attach to the mounts via a set screw that has the black plastic handle. They'll last forever rather than just until the first good wind. We ended up buying the Perko one after the cheapie one broke.

As far as the noise goes they are rather annoying at night when you're trying to sleep in the v-berth.

I think your power squadron has a list of flag etiquette that covers pretty much every flagging option including dressing up.

Good luck

Chris

Power squadron flags, are flown as other burgees, from the Bow staff.
Bob as an experienced off shore sailor know the rules,
My grandpa and father were masters before the helm and I was raised to fly the flags thusly for a small vessel such as a C-Dory.--yeah an I'm 80
This is personalized for me.
On the bow I fly the club or squadron burgee
From the mast head staff the House flag-- in my case Can. Power Squadron
From the stern --country of origin --Canada
