Fuel Tank Capacity

What is the capacity of the two fuel tanks on the C-Dory 22 Cruiser? Is it twice 20 gallons or twice 25 gallons? I suppose these are US gallons or 3.785 liters or am I wrong on this?

Prior to around 2005, the 22's had twin 20 gal tanks. After that they were 23 gallon tanks (I think initially referred to as 25 gallon tanks but not 25 usable gallons). Yes, that's U.S. gallons (1US gal = 3.785 liters).

The first of the CD-22 Cruisers (that followed the Classic CD-22) starting in 1987 had two Mollner 18 gallon tanks.

Yup - that's why we went for the optional aluminum 54-gal tank.

Im wondering the same thing, fuel tank size, except for a 2006 cape cruiser. Would someone be able to help me out?
Just got in from a couple days cruisng and fishing an put 65 liters in 1 tank and 74 in the other and not quite sure what to make of what the digital fuel gauge was saying...

Thanks

That explains why after I pumped my tanks dry the pump shut off at 15 gal when I refilled them. ( 1989 22 cruiser. )

From 1987-1999 the tanks were the Moeller 18 gallon then in 2000 they were upgraded to 20 gallon.I dont know how long the 20 gallons were kept? I think they upgraded again in 05-06? to 23-25gallons . We had a 1999 cd 22 with moeller 18's we now have the cape cruiser with twin alum 30 gallon tanks =60 gallons about 50 -52 usable gallons the pickup tubes are on the top front of the tank so when on plane the gas tends to go to the back of the tank not a good design .
I have a f115 yamaha with yamha gauges they show the tank on empty when I still have about 20 gallons in the 2 tanks ? I usually just fill up to 60 gallons and reset my flow meter when i get down to about 20 gallons yami gauge shows both tanks on empty

Just for the record, my 2002 22 Cruiser came with two 25-gallon tanks. They were made in Burlington, Washington, I think by "Wayland Marine" (or similar, it was hard to read).

I have read of (and seen the tank label) of some slightly later 22's (2004-ish) coming with 25-gallon Moeller tanks. The "current" Moeller tanks are 23-gallon, but I think they are the same 25-gallon Moellers but modified for when the 22 went to a permanent/flat cockpit sole at around 2006 (the sole unit has slightly raised liner-like areas for the fuel tanks). Reason I say this is that on the Moeller drawing for the current, 23-gallon tanks is the note, dated February 2006, "Reduce height by 1" and relocate label and stampings." I think that's probably what turned 25 gallons into 23 for the Moeller tanks.
