We also had some high tides with Ike and Gustav--even shifted the aircraft carrier Oriskany in 275 feet of water!
But, I would in no way characterize the cruising grounds being at all "torn up". Business is as normal in most of the marinas. Ofter than high water and some barrier Island errosion, all is "normal". Dog River is in full swing, Eastern Shore marinas OK-Home Port, The Wharf and Pirate's cove I have personally checked as well as Holiday Harbor, all of the Orange Beach marinas etc are open. I cannot speak for New Orleans, but there are places to anchor each nigh there and all of the way along the coast--not going to be a problem. All of the Mississippi flesh pots are open and taking people's money.
