The call just came in early this morning, Lydia's water broke and the contractions have started - midwife says tonight or tomorrow, so we are on our way to Omak in about an hour to meet Harper Eleanor Hamilton! This is our and Conor's parents' first grandchild - think this baby is going to be the center of the universe or what?

Pat and Patty,

Congrats and I hope everything works out just as planned. I know you'll make wonderful grandparents. Better buy Baxter some extra toys so he doesn't get too jealous!

Exciting! Please keep us posted!

Of course, you realize this changes everything? We have boat and RV friends who planned to travel full-time after retirement... and then grandkids came into the picture.

Center of the Universe... yeah, every kid should get to feel that way.

Best wishes to Mom, Dad, all the Grandparents, and welcome to the world, Harper Eleanor Hamilton!

Congratulations, Grandchildren are great and you will soon learn to appreciate the phrase, " If I could have just had the grandkids first".

Congradulations Pat and Patty .Yes we were moving up to Tennessee a few years back ,before our Caleb was born ,now we are staying in Naples Fl. Grandkids are our Reward for putting up with our Kids

Just spoke with Patti and the baby is here. Pat was off to WalMart.....go figure. All is well and Patti had to cut it short and get to mom and baby Harper.

Harper Eleanor Hamilton made her appearance at 5:28 p.m., November 4, 2010. Six pounds ten ounces, 19.5 inches long. Born at Lydia and Conor's home, natural childbirth, no drugs - the midwife just barely made it in time! Mom, Dad and baby all doing fine, as are both sets of grandparents - we just returned to our fifth wheel in the Omak City Park at the Stampede Grounds after a champagne toast! Patty will stay here all through next week, I will head home Sunday and then come back Thursday of next week (Veteran's Day, a city holiday). Pictures in the a.m.!

That awesome feeling of holding your grandchild for the first time is something that can't be explained. Congratulations to everyone!
