So susan and I have been married for 3 years..or have we?? Susan has been trying to get her pass port changed to her married name. Well come to find out our marriage licence is incomplete and has to be redone. the kicker is we had to go to Friday harbor in person to get it done. We figured this out Wensday about 1130 am just as the snow was stopping. So we headed up to the ramp and headed over to san juan in the blowing snow and wind. We could hardly see the other islands as they went by. A good 3 to 4 ft sea in the protected areas. When we got there it was a short run up the road to the county office in 5 inchs of snow with more falling. After thirty seconds of paper work it was back to the main land in snow and now darkness. we got back to the dock at 530 pm. Man I really love those ferrys. Would have hated to do it in the Susan E.

Whew -- ain't the bureaucracy great?? Anyway, congrats!

An aside -- we got remarried last spring by an imam (Islamic ceremony) in Morocco with one tenth the bother you had with our bureaucracy.

Tom,

Does this mean that you now have two anniversaries - the first one from 3 years ago, and the second one yesterday? You better check with Susan on this but I suspect you might have to get flowers, chocolates, etc. at least twice per year now... :wink and you better not forget EITHER date!

Congrats.

'Bout time she made an honest man of you! :wink

On the flip side, you both still wanted to get this done! How many couples would "re-think" if there were an escape clause?

Congratulations and best wishes, you newlyweds!

Jim & Joan B,

There will be no second date, that would require susan to except the idea that we were not married and sh e is not having any of that. Just the mention of not being married the last few years is enough to get a guy thrown from the ferry. The thing is the court house should have caught the mistakes when they sent us the licence in the first place or when we requested a copy for the pass port application.

Am I missing something here or did Bill say he and El were married only last spring by an iman in Morocco. Does that mean the two of them have also been plying the waters of the world in unmarried bliss? If so does it also mean they crossed the threshold of my abode unmarried! Oh how I lust after the life of a doryman.

Tim

Why get remarried unless you are unmarried?

Tom & Susan – congratulations.
:thup

I hope this one last longer than the first. :wink

Does she understand the full value of holding you hostage for anniversary gifts twice per year? She may change her mind when she comes to that realization. Have her give me a call, I'll straighten her out on this  !
