Great day for a spring cruise

Looks like a great forecast for the Puget Sound area tomorrow. We're hoping to head over to Olga on Orcas Island for a nice lunch tomorrow. Maybe we'll see some fellow brats on the water.

It was by all accounts a great day for spring cruising on Lake Washington today! Got a call from Marty on Lizzie II, and my neighbor is STILL out in his brand new Ranger 27 tug...I decided I would rather work today (not...).

It was a perfect day for Lizzie II's first dunking. Dotty and I had a ball. Truth be told, Pat was right, the angler is better balanced than the cruiser. After sitting since last fall, the Honda EFI started right up hardly turning the key! Everything worked, and the day couldn't have been more lovely. We do love that little boat. :love

Marty, good on ya, for picking the right boat and THE RIGHT DAY :thup :thup It did look nice from here too.

I'll be cruising tomorrow, on the C-Da oh Coho. Well, sometimes size dose matter. :D

Beautiful day yesterday, and today looks promosing. The grass is a bit long, so it may be time for the spring harvest. After being at work until 3:00 that is....

We did go out and just burned some ver expensive gas. Of course we went out with the change of tide, just as the wind picked up, so Bellingham Bay was its usual snotty self. But the sun was out and so were the mountains. Beautiful!

The price of gas at Hilton Harbor is now 4.69. I was told they had to order it from Tacoma because of the shutdown at Cherry Point. At least it doesn't have any ethanol.

And when I got home I noticed that the grass has to be mowed....maybe tomorrow.

Carole and I took Kestrel out to Sucia Island for the night of the 23rd. Weather was agreeable going out. We hiked the island before dinner then after dinner hiked out to shallow bay to watch the sunset. We had planned to hike Jones Island on the 24th but the docks are not yet in place. Instead we decided to head for Olga but also no docks or fuel at Blakley Island. Again the weather was favoriable but we were early in the season.

The best to all,

Mike

We headed up to Olga mid morning. Not too bumpy till we got west of Blakely Shoal, then we bucked a NW'er to Olga. Disappointed that the dock wasn't in.

We turned downwind and tucked in on the South side of Spencer Spit for a nice lunch in the bright sun.

Took the C-oho (MV Coho ferry) to Victoria today to spend the day with my sister. Cold and windy on the deck 20=knot cruise speed plus the breeze was fresh out of the north at 15+. Did see a C-Dory at the end of Ediz Hook, in 4 ft waves 20% white caps on the outside, and about 3 second spacing. Looked real bumpy. The ride home was nice, almost flat water and the breeze had dropped to about 5 and it was a tail breeze on the deck.

Hey 'TR';

Have you thought of adding a tractor drive to the outboard and outrigger sideboards to the hull of the C-Dory to make a C-Dory Snowmobile? Talk about the best of both worlds.

Yes, we already had to cut the grass here a couple of times, trim the hedges and those dag-gum yellow pop-ups are fed by a couple of neigbors who loves yellow yards. Love those white flying seeds! :sad

I see you have plenty of frozen water to keep every thing green for you later, whenever that will be. Come to Virginia and boat (almost) year round.

OK, sorry to be a little smarty. You can enjoy the seasonal changes more than some of us. This 'darn yankee' can remember those snowy days and snow plows filling in my driveway just before I had to leave for work.
