Hello Factory?

Dear All,

I never thought I would be in this situation, but I need to discuss with a factory representative a warranty issue. Neither the dealer or I have been successful in getting anyone to return our calls or emails. I have called Scott Reynolds and Walter and sent emails. Any suggestions for one living in Michigan 2000 miles away from the factory?

Thanks for your help,

Rollie,

I had the same problem until I took the advice from two C-Brats who faced the same thing and offered the following info.

Send multiple emails copying all of the following. When I sent an email to just Frank or just one of the principals it seemed to get "lost." Copying all of them seems to get more attention.

scotreynolds@c-dory.com
richreynolds@c-dory.com
bretreynolds@c-dory.com
frankwalters@c-dory.com

Also, run a search on the infamous QC threads and you will find the cell numbers for a few of the big guys. If you can't get through to them at the factory, catch them on their cells. I did this twice and got almost immediate email follow-up from Frank.

Hope this helps and looking forward to chasing walleye on Lake Erie with you next month.

Regards,

Nick

Seems we are all having the same problems. The dealer I bought my boat from dropped C-Dory and did not bother to tell me. C-dory says they didn't inform them of the problems, it took several calls to get a call back. I haven't heard anything since. The only Dealer left in BC is on Vancouver Island and further from here than it is to Auburn. I'm going to try a registered letter and see what happens.I can see this is going to be a pain in the posterior. Good luck to all.

Let's see -- The factory tells geebee2 that his dealer 'didn't tell them about any problems'. At the same time, C-batical says:
Neither the dealer or I have been successful in getting anyone to return our calls or emails.

How can you tell them the problems if no one's answering the phones?

"Is this mike working? Wave your hands in the back row if you can't hear me"

Good! No one waved!

e.g.

Along this line, I just bought a little Mini-Cooper Clubman car down in Oklahoma City, OK. The Salesman, the Manager, the head of Service and the Finance ppl all included their cards in the owner's manual package.

On top of that, the onboard computer has those phone numbers as well as the main factory number. And, if that is not enough, they have put a huge sticker on the inside of the back doors with 1 inch numbers of a number at the main factory to call if you are not getting the service you feel you deserve!!!

Now that is customer service!!!

Are the same principals still in charge?
Are we still dealing with the same people?
Maybe they sold and we need to start addressing some one else?
Who knows?

while my boat was at the factory shop I could not get a hold of any one. I left messages and emails for a week. When i did get some one on the phone I had to get nasty to get john on the phone. My understanding is that there are few people working there as of a month ago. Lake union Searay has not ordered any new boats this year last I heard. I really dont know if c-dory is going to make it. I hope they do but its not looking good from here. Maybe if they spent some time dealing with there clients and dealers they would stand a chance. I know we are not suppost to bash the factory here but I just dont see much good to say. The factory did a very good job on the repairs of my boat but with out the help of lake union sea ray I would never have know what was happening or even gotten the work done. I will post more about that on a different thread.

Hi All,

I am pleased to report that the method of contacting the factory as Nick/Valkyrie suggested (email all principals) worked. Frank Walters returned my email this afternoon and also followed it up with a phone call.
Sending emails through the warranty department address, as provided in the C-Dory website simply does not work; they apparently end up in a black hole somewhere as I experienced. Though, I can't explain why my phone messages were not returned. At this time C-Dory expressed a willingness to fix my problem under warranty and requested that I send them an estimate of repair that I will do ASAP. Again, thanks for all of your responses and suggestions.

Isn't this a great site?

Best regards,
Rollie/C-Batical

Rollie....
I thought you were just smelling that springtime "fire and brimestone" -
"hell-ofactory"!?!
Hopefully we'll see you out on the "big" waters of Lake St. Clair this season.

Boy-- things were sure different at the factory 4 or 5 years ago. Jeff M. & others were still there at the time. I always got an e-mail response from Jeff within 24 hrs. Questions, parts, and repairs were handled immediately, and I had a used boat. Hopefully this is not the results of so called better Management changes.----Rich

Greetings Bruce,

You bet you will. Lake St. Clair is always in my plans. Only during weekdays though. Weekends are to crazy for an old timer like me. I am still planning on being up in Harrisville for a few days to take Richard out for a spin. Don't know when though.

Glad to see that you are still on your computer.

Best regards,
Rollie/C-Batical

several weeks ago i emailed c-dory asking them for help regarding a rubber gasket type item. on my starboard sliding window there is an aluminum support bracket attached to the glass. this bracket is held in place by a rubber gasket as well as pressure from the bracket. well, on my window this bracket fell off and the rubber piece is damaged beyond repair. so, i asked the company if they could provide me with a replacement, for which, i'd gladly pay them. i was hoping to get this matter taken care of before the june 6, chesapeake cruise. as of this date i've not had a response from the company. if, anyone has knowledge as to where i might purchase this part please let me know.
thanks
pat
