Can you guys tell me roughly how many hours one should get out of a pair of twin 40hp honda moters in salt water use? I noticed El and bill are on there second set of hondas. anyone know how many hours they put on the first pair?

thanx

Well thats what I love about you guys, instant accurate information, what a world :D , was looking at the 22 for sale by your neighbor up there with 1200 hours on the hondas, looks like there still good for about 1000 hours or more. Hope Nancy returns my call.

Thanks Mike

Hammerhead-

Not to worry!!

1. Take the props off and put them back on in reverse direction fore and aft.

2. Reverse the battery terminals so the DC starting motor will turn backwards and start the motor in reverse rotation.

3. Watch the hour meter run back down to zero thus giving you totally new motors.

4. Repeat as necessary!

Works better with outdated Honda motors as opposed to modern motors such as Yamaha, Suzuki, Evinrude e-techs, etc.

Damn these winter days are long and boring!
