Humorous Polar Bear Encounter

I have photos of an Inuit man who survived a polar bear attack that occurred under similar circumstances. He managed to kill the bear, but I don't understand how he managed to survive. Gruesome is an understatement.

This writing style, (from the linked article), is very much along the line of Paul Stradt, the author of "Artic Solitare" who will be at Powell Book store on Hawthorne St SE Portland Monday night. It could keep you in stitches or in awe at any one time, or in awesome stitches at times.

The best Laugh JoLee & I have had in a while with a lot of truth mixed in. It does have similarities to Paul in Arctic Solitaire, the main difference, Paul doesn’t seem to try for humor it’s just seems naturally there.

Dave, thanks for sharing.

Happy to do it. The author is a longtime sea kayaker out of Vancouver, BC, currently employed as an instructor and guide. He tells a mean story. He has a blog with some good yarns in it, here: https://philiptorrens.com/2018/03/14/th ... #more-3371

Dave, I think Philip Is one of the folks that Victoria Jason (Kabluna in the Yellow Kayak) traveled with as she navigated the top of Canada. She passed away some years ago, but her book is an interesting read.
