I was "surfing the net" the other day when I came across this Hydrobubble Anchor http://www.anchorconcepts.com/. Has anyone used this anchor or know anyone who has? If it does what it says it will do, seems like a neat way to go.

I searched this site and there was one mention of the Hydrobubble anchor, but would be interesting to get some input. Their website has an underwater visual/demonstration on how the anchor operates.

Humm... Looks good... looks simple.... looks to store quick and easy too. Like you.... Has anyone ever tried one of these????
 
I looked at the same info a few months ago. Then when I was up at EQ having my new motor installed Les had the right size for my 18 sitting there in the shop. I bought it but have not used it yet. Will let you know though when I do.

The Hydrobubble anchor has been discussed extensively on The Hull Truth website. Here's four of those discussions. Give it a few seconds to load; it's a search, so it takes a bit of time.

To me, it looks like a simple adaptation of a plow anchor, like the Delta Fastset, with a piece of PVC pipe added to help it land upright.

I wonder if the PVC pipe might actually impede it's deep setting in harder bottoms?

You could also add the PVC pipe to an existing plow anchor as a DIY project.

I kinda doubt it's worth the doubling in price, but see for yourself!

Humm.... but look how it does come apart for storage.... I like flat for storage. Guess we could take some of our cat fishing milk jugs and put a "tether line" on it to make it float .....or sink properly for a fast set... but then again... how much air is needed....and we still can't take the ancor apart as nice and easy as this one appears to do...maybe.

Come on Norm..... Go Anchoring for us in a tide swing somewhere.

After watching the video I wondered just how much effectiveness is lost when using a non free-fall windlass?
