(Inexpensive) Replacement Wipers for C-Dory 22?

How does one replace just the wiper blade on a C-Dory 22?
The wiper is manual; all we need is a new blade. Everything we find is an entire expensive assembly. Is this necessary?
Thanks for any suggestions!

I may have a couple in a shed... Let me look and get back with you..or anyone else who may want them. Not sure which boat they fit.

I too finally had to replace the 12" deteriorated wiper blades on my 22... First I searched through the past C-Brats postings on a replacement blade and had no luck with several blades that I ordered (from NAPA). After a bit more on-line investigation, I found that the manual wipers are the same ones that are used on vintage cars and trucks (example 1953 to 1960 Ford and Chevy Pickups) and had the NAPA folks order two, with hopes that it would be the same.
Today, I am please to report that the two blade assemblies that I ordered were exact replacements for the C-Dory. The NAPA part number is 60-1233, at a cost of $8.10 when you reserve them on line from your local store (they are $8.99 if you walk in and buy them and if you show a military ID, you get 10% off as well).

I just replaced the blades on "Desert 1st" at the beginning of our current trip.

The replacement blade was MARINCO Part #33004 / 11.5" blade.

These little electric wiper blades are Expensive ($25+ EACH !). I saw them at another marine supply store yesterday and they were $27.99 each! I suspect something else would work (It appears to be a standard bayonet mount), or check to buy them online.

Best,

I took an old blade to the auto parts store and found ones that had the same width where the blade slides on the arm. Got a couple and just cut them to the right length. Don't remember exactly what I got, but they work fine and were about $6 ea.

C-Dancer,
My 22 has manual wipers... I put them on this afternoon and had a delightful evening of cruising in the rain this evening.

Fantastic - these should be a fit for mine then. Thanks for doing the legwork and posting the part number :thup

Sunbeam,
Glad to help... I will order a spare set, now that I know for sure that they are the OEM style wipers.

O'Reilly's had, in stock, blades that fit (among other things) Willey jeeps. Exactly like CD22 originals except 1" shorter. Less than &10.00.

It doesn't completely replace windshield wipers, but we recently re-applied Rain-X and we're DELIGHTED to see how well it works.

Best,

A good coat of Rain-X, especially in salt water is an excellent way to avoid salt build up. The spray often runs off. I have found refill wipers which have the same profile, and refueled the blades. Don't have the information at hand as to what blades. I see less and less of the refills available at the WalMarts etc.

I too find Rain-X an excellent product. Tell me though where I might get A MANUAL wiper assemble for my wife who would like to see-too
