Installing a Swim Step

Anybody have any tips on the installation the factory swim step on a 22 cruiser? I just received my factory step and now must figure out how to install the thing. Does anyone know how far below the transom lip it is installed? Maybe someone who has one installed could measure it, I'd sure appreciate the help.

Call the factory!

They've got a spec sheet on it. May be a pencil drawing, but they'll be happy to help. They FAXed me the data needed for my electric wipers.
