I don't know that we have more rain than anyone else, I do know that our rain comes in great variety. Sideways, windblown, front to back, back to front, in general if I am being my lazy self it will come in the windows when they need to be open the most , to provide ventilation. I tried using the screens as a buffer but unless it is a very soft rain on a very calm day it will get in. Last week over in Prince William it hit me. If I could locate a devise simular to those used on the top of pickup windows, I could keep the window open and the rain out. The boat version would have to be a little longer and of lower profile but I believe the concept is sound. This would give a great amount of surface area for ventilation as well. To get an equal amount of surface area using clam shell's would have your boat looking like an armadillo! Am I out in left field on this thing, does someone already make this devise, what do others do when not wanting to "attend" the windows during rainy weather? I can make the necessary mold to create these things but would rather patronize anyone else who may have gone before me. Mike on Huda Thunkit.

Do you mean something like this?

This picture is from the Blue-C album so maybe he can help.

HERE'S a link to the original discussion of B~C's window deflectors.

I was looking for the thread on window cleaning and stumbled on this thread. Thought an update would be in order. The wing flaps have been on for a few years now and are still working great, easy to build, don't distract from the boats apperance and allow the window to be cracked open without getting soaked in a cross wind. As cheap as they are to make, why suffer :)
Adeline, feel free to venture over and cast an eye on them if you wish
