Lake coeur d' alene Idaho

I'm going to Lake couerd'alene in mid may and am looking for info on boating there. I'd like to spent 3-4 days in coeur d'alene. what overnight mooring in available( with parking, bathroom s and showers) Then id like go south to the St joe river area . Are there mooring bouys around the lake? if so what areas are good.
Im on a 16' c-dory with my dog . I looking to eat at Hudsons and any where else is nice .
Any one have suggestions on where I should go or see?

I have only driven by the area so no help there. But I did read a old book, written in 1952, about the early boating industry in the area. " Steamboats in the Timber by Ruby El Hult. Most likely out of print amazon has everything

Great read of the area, How and why it came to be settled and how steam power and boats played so much of a roll . I also like that is was written before a time that settling the west, logging, mining and agricultural were looked down on by so many. Lots of good stories of a time and place that few know about. It is truly amazing were and how far these large boats operated. If you are really interested in the area you should give it a read.
 
There are public docks on the lake painted yellow. Theonly shower I know of is in Harrison, Id at the public dock campground. Need to pay several quarters for usage. Other dock areas are in Windy Bay, Gassar Point, Heyburn Park, and others marked on the maps. You should be able to buy a map at the Coeur d’Alene Marina, Rockford Bay, Conklin Park, or Carlin Bay. You can also travel 20 miles or so upeither the Coeur d’Alen or St Joe rivers. Take a bike with you and from Harrison or Heyburn Park enjoy 75 miles of paved bike travel along the lake or river. We have been there several times and at one time or another, done the entire lake. So give me a bit to jog the memory bank and check my map, which I think is in the boat in the storage garage, and if no one chimes in, I'll get back to you.
