How about some info on this lake? Anybody cruise on it? Where are the best places to launch? Places not to miss? Best time of year to cruise the lake? We're thinking about maybe September?
 
We cruised it a few years back. We launced at the SW end at a park by the old sub base. It is very senic but the mountains drop right down to the lake, didn't find to many interesting coves to explore. The town of Sandpoint on the north end has moorage and is an easy walk to downtown, actually it kind of is downtown. On that trip we also hit Coeur d Alene and lake Roosevelt. Lake R was our favorite....enjoy
 
Thanks, Ken. How did you like Coeur d Alene? Any info about it? We also enjoyed Roosevelt -- lots of variety.
 
I think CdA would offer a lot more cruising opportunities, we didn't have the time to give it a propper cruising but I would have liked to try to get down to St Maries....there's more nooks and crannies and many more go fast boats.
Lots of fancy boats wizzing around the north end, lots of folks towing around some high dollar glitter machines but you know, when we stopped at a gas station by the lake, everybody was oogling our little boat :)

Faragut State park was where we launched on Pond O, nice facility as I recall
