Lake Powell in September???

Leaving Maui today for St George and our beloved Pura Vida. The plan was a month on lake powell. We could head up to Jackson Lake I guess but I am kind of stubborn. I want to launch at page not around the other end. So I guess I could settle for …well I hope it won’t be something stupid like getting stuck in the muck at Fort Rock. All I need is a launch site and a dump station close by..I just can’t give it up so is this a plausible plan? I am trying to look on the good side. All those hetherto unaccessable canyons and arches…Wow what an exciting opportunity but I do need to get in the water, have ice, empty the pp and gas up …any thoughts?

Everybody is leaving Jackson no water. They have been showing up at Yellowstone. I’m going to Lake Powell some time in Oct.

I agree with Jody. September/Oct should be some fantastic cruising & camping at lake Powell. Most likely fewer boats & people & with the right boat, tow vehicle & equipment, launching & retrieving the boat not a big deal from Bullfrog.

I was there this April & found with the lower water levels more good sandy beaches than any of my past trips there.

Probably won’t make it back there this year, but it won’t be the lake conditions stopping me.
