It is with great sadness to announce that the C-Brats lost a good friend last Friday, Larry Cooper.
Many of you may remember Larry and Liz. They were the owners of Roger's former TomCat, renamed Anytime Baby. They joined in many C-Brat gatherings the past several years, including Pender Harbour 2014, the mini-gathering to Princess Louisa 2014, Friday Harbor 2014-15, and the mini-gathering to Desolation Sound in 2015 just to name a few. They sold Anytime Baby in 2016 to move to the Big Island Hawaii.
Larry was one of the funniest guys I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and probably the greatest story teller I've ever met. Larry could sure spin a yarn. He was a very knowledgeable boater and a great asset to have around while boating. He was always fun, full of life and one helluva guy.
Even though the time spent together with he and Liz didn't span a lot of years, we will always have very special memories of those times together.
His lovely wife Elizabeth (Liz) asked me to post the following message:
"Larry Cooper passed away in his wife's arms at home on Friday, April 7th after an extended illness. Larry was a United States Navy Veteran, known to be very generous and involved in various causes. He was a comedian, an adventurer, an extreme sportsman and a great cook. He loved rock and roll and tie dye as well as opera and dressing up. One of his greatest loves was riding his motorcycle with his wife on the back, enjoying the wind and the scents of nature. He was loved by many from very different walks of life and definitely lived according to the golden rule. His respect for people with special needs and challenges led him to become involved in various ventures that would bring awareness and support for these individuals. He loved history and had an incredible memory for detail. He used to say he was a virtual cornucopia of useless information.
His life on earth is over, but as he rushed through the pearly gates on his latest Harley.. a softail custom.. the smell of patchouli oil wafting behind him, it was clear he would be joining the angels in some dialogue about how certain things should be done..."

Rest in peace Larry. You will be greatly missed.
