Does anyone have an idea where I can get parts for my Lewmar Pro Sport 550 Windlass ?

The pro sport is not as common as many of the other windlasses--but P2 Marine should be able to get the parts. I suspect that most of the parts are similar to the 700.

Thanks, I saw P2 but didn't see mine on their list. Ill give them a call Monday.

The line and chain feed out if you only pull on it. It was fine for the last few years, just started in September. I saw a video on youtube and understand what happened and why with the bushing that should only turn one way and lock the other way. Mine is frozen. Trying to anticipate any possible problem I started looking for parts and couldn't find them. As long as its cranking by March Ill be good ! Thanks for the help.

P2 seems to have a diagram of your windlass on their site, with parts list. Agree that you want to talk to them, when you have the parts you need in hand.

Also find out why the windlass failed. Although they are not the most expensive windlass, I have been using Lewmar (or predicessor0 for many years, and if you take care of them, they seem to continue to work fine. Not to say, you don't have to disassemble, grease, clean etc on a regular basis...

Good luck.

Well now that its apart I found the problem with my windlass. The 2nd compound gear assembly was locked up. I freed it up and dissembled it and got a bearing rebuild kit from P2. The only part I cant find is a thrust pin roller bearing, it is the size of a 3/8 washer with rollers. Lewmar does not sell them and I'm having trouble measuring it because of rust. Any idea where to get one ? There is a picture in my albums, I cant seem to post it here.[/img]

Mike, is this the pix of the washer/bearing you are wanting moved? Hope so.
