A member mentioned that Mobile Bay can be rough on a 22. Could a few of you elaborate? And the trip across the ICW all the way to Apalachicola looks interesting. Is it really open and safe. I may stay in the Navarre/Ft Walton/Destin area, any comments?

Any of our bays can be choppy. Not bad, unless the wind is greater than 20 knots. In the ICW you do cross the mouth of several bays: Perdido Bay, Pensacola Bay, Santa Rosa Bay. Choctawhatchee Bay,Okaloosa Bay and Apalachola Bay. If you are comming this way, "Camp Thataway" is on the upper part of Perdido Bay. You are welcome to drop by; we had a good dock and plenty of facilities for visiting boats as well as land yachts. We love to have C Dorys visit us. Alternative is to meet us for lunch at the Wharf, Lulu's, Pirates Cove, Sunset Grill or Peg Leg Pete's all in the Perdido, Pensacola Area.

There are lots of overnight anchorages along this area. Most likely we have anchored there overnight at any of them. The only marina we stop at regularly is Panama City Marina.

Thanks Bob. The only water I've spent much time on down there is Santa Rosa Sound in a Jon Boat and it was very nice.
Thanks for the invite and if we make it that far we will likely come see you. I'd like to get back to the Aviation Museum some day. Thanks for the lead on the the Marina in Panama City.
