Roger of Fishtales just called....he went out for a test ride on a Tom Cat...and was really impressed.... said the ocean was lumpy and the boat handled it easily and at about 30.... wow !
I understand that the new dealer with three locations has about anything anyone would want.... in Oxnard he had a green 25 a grey 19 and the 255 (in the water) all have Honda power... Roger said the 255 has twin 135 Hondas and flies.... (I originally typed flys)

Joel,
Send them out soon, I am about out of SBS and Miami Boat Show goodies....Please wash them first!

Naw, Mike- you get them as is. That way you can get the full enjoyment of some SoCal sweat :P

Went for a ride in the TC255 this morning----- and again this afternoon!
Dang, that is a right fine boat. Love the way it handled the lump and we didn't even feel it when we crossed the wake of another boat.
Hhmmm- if I sell the motorhome------- naw, PJ would kill me fer sure.

Oh yea--
Thanks Bob Nahm for having one of your guys buff out and wax Fishtales. He did a great job.
I swear I will never put that PMP Luster Finish crap on my boat again!!!

The other day I drove a 25' C-Dory and today drove the 255 Tom Cat. Both are super boats although completely different animals. The go fast crowd will love the TomCat, while the cruising crowd will prefer the C-Dory. This dealership is an absolute coup for C-Dory, and the answer to our prayers as So. Cal. owners. This dealer is financially sound, and has boating experience in spades, and they also manage a boat yard. Their parent company is Catalina Yachts, so they know boats. Bob has already come up with some neat customization ideas for the C-Dorys, such as a teak & holly floor laminate he showed us today. It really looks rich, and is reported to be extemely durable. He has also worked with the factory to fit their boats with some special stuff, suitable for our rougher coastal waters like handholds, etc. Anyway, these folks are not shy, having ordered a slew of boats, only some of which have arrived. I think they will also be enthusiastic supporters of our Catalina Adventure in August.

I also got my first look at the new 22 Cruiser that comes with a moulded in raised cockpit floor, and larger step, both positive new features to my mind. Also like the newly designed dinette table.

A little Raid should take care of the flies...

I had a ride on the TC255 C-Dory brought to the 2005 Blakely Island CBGT, and it indeed was impressive.

Hey.... Rather than looking at what we can squeeze out of the poor new dealer....Why don't we have a "Meet and Great" party for him.??? Maybe a Bar-Be-Que ??? where all the Southern California folks can talk to him...and welcome him...
How about it Roger ??? Can we use the Yacht Club facility some Friday or Sat night ??? I know there are a bunch of C-Dory owners in the area that have boats but don't join in, maybe this would be a neat way to get more involvement.... What Ya Think ???

We could have a BBQ some Sunday. Looks like May is busy with the boat shows, except for Sunday the 13th or 27th. Sunday the 27th is Memorial Day weekend.

I can get the Club, but I need to know how many will come and attend.
What will be the logistics of the BBQ? Who's bringing what? I can have someone tend the bar for us. Will people be coming by boat, car or both? If you boat in, we can plan a trip out to Painted Cave- weather depending.
All of our slips were damaged and removed by the winds last December- there are other guest slips available in the harbor.

Who's in for this???

Joel, Roger,all C-Dory enthusiasts,

We think this is a speclacular idea!!!! Just let us know the dates, ideas and how many "Brats" to expect, and we will have a great time. We look forward to it!
Sincerely,
Tim Braue

Hey folks,

Joel's "Meet and Greet" idea is a good one; we're hoping to do it here at Catalina Yacht Anchorage before the summer really kicks in. We're going to have our first C-Dory inventory here in Marina Del Rey pretty soon, and an open house/demo day, with barbecue and maybe even a little live music would be just the ticket to get to know everyone, and to showcase these impressive boats. We've got ample parking, and should have several boats in the water, so a good time is in the offing--as soon as the schedule allows. C-Brats will be the first to know the date, you can be sure. Tim and I look forward to meeting all of you.
In the meantime, feel free to head up to Ventura and see the new Dory's we've got there; Paul and Niki would be more than happy to show them to you. And of course we've got some nice new ones in Channel Islands, should you find yourself in the neighborhood (the green is a great color, by the way)

Best to all,

Doug Pease/Tim Braue

Joel,

Absolutely outstanding idea. May 12th is Safe Boating Day at Channel Islands Harbor, with booths/displays set up at the Coast Guard Station. There will be Air, Sea, & Fire Rescue demos in the harbor at 10:00 and 12:00. How about a barbecue at about 3:00. Everybody gets to see a great show and then eat....what could be better? Any other Saturday I'm tied up with CG duties, but I'm free any Sunday.

Am curious why you feel that the TC is less preferable for cruising.

Thanks,
Warren

I'd hazard a guess here Warren and say that's it strictly a distinction in speed range rather that the suitability of either boat. For laid back old geezers ( :teeth ) running along at 30 is more than they had in mind.
