New Motor Troubles-- sorry double post, ignore other

Catch 22

New member
So last time I had motor trouble I posted on here and quickly got the solution from fellow brats, so here is my new attempt to do the same.

Symptoms: Motor was running great, had been all season. Started fine, ran fine. Then, while cruising at about 70% throddle for about 10 minutes it shut off with no warning. No alarms, no sputtering, just like someone pulled the plug on anything electric. It would crank and turn over fine, but would not fire or even come close. We dug into it on the water a bit and as best we could tell it was getting fuel, getting oil, but no spark. None of the plugs would ark. I am guessing this is a computer/ ignition module/...

So my questions are:

What do you think it is?
How hard is it to fix?
How much does it cost to fix?
How do I confirm what the problem is?

Motor:
1998 2 stroke oil injected 90hp Johnson ocean runner.
As it is prime salmon season, I NEED to get back on the water asap. Any help or advice would be great, THANKS!

Kevin-

My son had the same problem with another boat. Turned out the kill switch/lanyard was disconnected or dysfunctional, so no spark (!)

I guess that reminds us to not overlook the obvious (Got had by the Kiss Principle again!)

Otherwise, may be an computer/ignition module or fuse, etc.

Good Luck!

Joe. :teeth :thup
