New TomCat/Puget Sound

Beth and I are leaving Fairbanks tomorrow morning on our way to Mt. Vernon, WA, to pick up our new TC 255 at Master Marine :D . We'll probably arrive in Mt. Vernon about April 30. We plan to spend a few days putting around in the Puget Sound area to make sure everything is ship-shape before we trailer "Thumper" back to Fairbanks. I probably won't have an opportunity to check this site often while we are on the road, but if any C-Brats in the Seattle-Bellingham-Mt. Vernon area would like to meet up with us while we're in the Pacific Northwest you can contact us via Beth's cell phone at 907 322-3372. We'd love to meet some local C-Brats and get the scoop on where to go and what to see while we're in WA.

Congrats on the new TC! I assume you will be test launching in Anacortes (?) but in any case you will no doubt want to spend your time in the San Juans, and there are just too many neat places to list them all. Matia Cove on the southeast corner of Matia Island is just about our all time favorite spot to drop the hook...no facilities, you need a dinghy to go ashore, a short hike on a decent trail over to the state park dock on the other side.

Thanks for the info. Pat. We just arrived in Burlington after 4 days and 2,200 miles -- a long but enjoyable trip. The trip home (towing a TC) should be quite an adventure.

We'll get to check out Thumper tomorrow morning. Matia Cove sounds like a great place, thanks for the tip!
