Norris Lake

Is anyone here experienced with Norris Lake in TN? It is not connected to TVA directly. I could trailer there in 9 hrs and have much family there. I know it is beautiful. I've hunted for arrowheads in that area and an also fond of the varieties of fish that they have.
In General are transient boats welcome to anchor in most lakes?
Would love to talk to someone with experience there.

I have been up the Clint River to the dam at Norris Lake. We have relatives who boat on the lake regularly. Their family has a lake house and dock there. It is subject to the rules of other TVA lakes. Anchoring is not a problem. You have to display an anchor light at night.

It's a sweet area and It would be nice to do in fall before they draw down.

I rented a houseboat for a family reunion there back when I lived in Oak Ridge before I moved to Seattle. Wow! 1987! Looks like it is a lot more developed now. We explored, anchored where we wanted, swam when it was hot. We generally got breezes in the evenings, but not always. The main problem I remember was insects coming from the shore after the sun was down when there was no breeze. Not as bad as the Everglades, but it would be nice if you had screens. Make sure and check out "swimming cave", take sunscreen and lots of bug repellent.
