Opinions on Powerwinch?

West Marine is having a big sale on the Powerwinch (free fall) Windlasses, and has the Model #30 (for boats up to 30 feet), with 600lb maximum load, on sale for $479. I think it has been replaced by a newer Model #31.

Does anyone have any experience with the Powerwinch brand, or with the pros and cons of free fall winches as opposed to power-down winches?

I was thinking of buying it and a $149 Simpson Lawrence pivoting self-launch bow roller to try and get my 22' so I can anchor more safely when alone.
 
I'm not familiar with the Powerwinch, but love the self-launching, pivoting bow roller. It works great with my Delta 14.

I have the Powerwinch 450 model, been using it for a few years, no problem. I like the freefall ability & don't think I'd want a windlass without it...here you can see where I added a roller to help hold the rode down on the gypsy, it had a habit of not hooking up as the bow roller was trying to lift the rode up http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_ ... _photo.php
