Outboard bracket and Wallas fuel tank

I have just installed trim tabs (Lenco 12x12 standards) at the suggestion of Fred of Anita Marie fame. The installation went fine, but I don't have the clearance for the kicker. We also are putting on a new 90 hp Mercury 4 stroke that is wider than the Johnson 70 hp that just self-destructed.
The Merc is wider and the present kicker (Johnson 9.9hp) needs to move abeam slightly. In the not too distant future the plan is to put a 4 stroke Merc 9.9 which is also a bit wider than the Johnson. My thought was that an outboard bracket would be the way to go because to clear the trim tabs the kicker needs to be aft about another 6-8 inches. I've looked at the installations under the trim tab forum and did not remember seeing any that use a bracket. Any thoughts or advice?

In the process of upgrading the boat, I also am installing a Wallas 125 DU and wasn't to impressed with the quality of the 1 gallon fuel tank. It seems fairly thin. I was thinking of a poly 2 gallon jerry jug. Any suggestions on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rhys - good to hear from you again!

Take a look at this discussion for some thoughts on your kicker bracket.

As for the Wallas tank: My boat came with a 2 1/2 gallon tank that I am sure is provided by Wallas. It is plenty heavy enough. Your idea would work just fine as long as it is vented. The little pump doesn't suck too hard, so it wouldn't take long for it to quit getting fuel. The Wallas tank has a unique screw-on cap with the suction tube and a vent hose coming out of it.
