Ok when I took delivery of my 22 there were a couple of cans inside, they were labeled, gray /white/black. Now are these gelcoat or paint? It didn't come with any hardener so I'm thinking it's paint but.... Surely someone here can enlighten me.

Thanks

Sark

Sark,

Although I have never opened the box that came with my boat, it is labeled gel coat.

Steve

I've been treating the cans that came with my boat as gelcoat. Got a little hardener from WM and have used it several times. YMMV

Don

My cans are just labeled with the color. So.... inside the cabin is paint right not gelcoat? I swear I remeber someone saying they call it gelcoat but it was actually a paint.

Sark

The one that's paint (and it is paint) was larger and labeled. At least in my box.

I wondered the same thing and called the factory. They said it was floor gelcoat with a dulling reducer added to make it non-slippery. You may want to call them to confirm that this was the practice when your boat was MFG'd. Mike.

Did any of you TC owners get this paint? I didn't.

Warren... Yes... I was just wondering about that.... pretty much all I got was the boat... no 'manual' which others have mentioned, no paint or extra parts other than the part that fell out of the Wallas!

My Tom Cat came with Green and white Gel coat--and what I belive is the interior gel coat (Haven't opened that can). You have to supply your own catalyst.
