Well I'm back to my usual frustration in trying to add photos. This time when I click upload it starts the process then in the area that comes on to do the browsing and photo selection process I get a message saying " I can't access this file directly" and the whole process stalls out other than showing on the C-Brat home page in the new photo activity section that there was new activity in our album, but when going there nothing new posted.

Any Ideas of what I may be doing wrong. As far as I know am doing same as in the past when it did work.

Home late last night from Yellowstone, so thought problem could be me and foggy head.

Today was able after several hours and now a really foggy head to upload 6 photos. Found it would sometimes work if kept to one or two at a time. Several more photos I never could upload due to getting a "error invalid photo" in red message in the c-dory photo process window. The photos it wouldn't accept were from same camera in batch as ones it would.

I don't give up easy, but it will be awhile before I go through this again.

Jay – I found that if I reduced my photos to 800 pixels by 600 pixels (the size this site uses) the photos upload faster and without as many upload errors. Just about every graphics program has the ability to reduce photos. When you reduce the photo, do not save it with the same name in the same folder as the original. You will overwrite the original which would be bad. I also find that if I upload two or three photos at a time, if is much faster.

If you don’t reduce the photos yourself, the site has to. You are uploading sometimes huge files, then the site has to resize them, then add them to your album. If the resizing part is done locally (on your computer) you will have less problems.

As much ice as there is still on the two lakes, it is hard to see how they will be open by next weekend.

Using your advice was able to post a few more photos that wouldn't post before. Still had the error message on a couple.

Main reason we went to Yellowstone this weekend was to check if it would be viable to launch boat there next weekend. At this point think we will save our days off for the week before the 4th July. Maybe some of that record Calif heat will make it this way by then. So far this winter and spring has been colder then for many years.

Thanks for the help

Jay
