Hi Brats,

I recently got a new digital camera, took some pictures of my latest project (outboard storage bracket on the factory transom bar for our inflatable) and tried to upload them using Firefox.

They wouldn't upload and I suspect that they are a trifle HUGE. What is the recommended size for pics so I can reset my camera?

Thanks,

Nick

If you choose the "big applet" option it will automagically resize the photos for you.

Warren,

I don't know about 'applets', but here is what I do. The maximum size for photos on this site is 800 pixels wide x 600 pixels tall. I resize my photos to about 1000 wide and the site software will reduce them from there to the correct size.

Warren,

The Applets worked! Thanks a lot!

However, we're at our cabin and I am relying on a Verizon Aircard and it is SLOOOOW uploading pictures, so I did the logical thing and took an hour nap. I love being retired!

I just added captions and it all done.

Regards,

Nick

I take about 15 seconds in Photoshop to resize images to 72 pixels per inche, then 800 x whatever; then do a "save as" and put them in a separate "E" (for e-mail size) folder. Makes it easy to retrieve to send to the server here and for any e-mail use. Then the software here doesn't have to resize and the upload goes much faster (if you are uploading a HUGE file, that takes a lot of time).
