I'm having trouble sending a private message. I typed the message and hit submit and got a message that the message has been submitted but the message stayed in my outbox and didn't show up in my sent box. I've sent PMs before and they worked. What did I screw up?
 
I don't believe you have screwed up in anyway...it is just the way things work...your message will leave the outbox and move to the sent box when it is picked up by the sendee....at least that is the way it seems to work for me.

Recently sent same PM to cdadmin, tyboo, and da Nag but have never received a response. Don't know if I'm doing it right or whether I don't know how to receive a response. I assume when the top of the page by the envelope says"no new messages". that means I have not received a response. ???

I think Mike is correst as far as the out and sent boxes, and I do know that it sometimes takes some time...depending on how many and what all is going on with the "shared server" that handles our site. Could take as long as about an hour...or more maybe. I know it is not like instant messaging...but sometimes it is pretty fast too.
 
And TyBoo Mike is up here too! The store is running itself right now -- you can send me a PM and I'll give to Bill or Mike in a couple of days.

I believe PM's are gathered from the members outboxes by the server on a timed basis. I don't know what the time period is, but lets just use an hour for an example on the hour. If you send a PM at 10:05 AM and some else sends one at 10:55 AM, both will go out at 11:00 AM. One took 55 minutes to go out and the other took 5 minutes.
 
I once sent a PM to cdadmin and it was a while before I got an answer. Tyboo or DaNag (can't remember which) said they don't check that inbox as often as they do their regular e-mail so you might want to send it directly to Tyboo or DaNag rather than the cdadmin.
