This is a silly little project to keep the anchor rode from sitting in a puddle of water all the time.

I epoxied some cleats near the bottom of the locker, above the drain hold. I took this time to open up the hole to be about 50% larger, made sure there was no barrier for water not to drain, and COMPLETELY sealed off the edges of everything.

Here is the shelf that sits on the cleats. It has lots of holes for drainage. It was thoroughly coated with epoxy before painting. The bitter end of the rode is tied off underneath.

Nice. I remember after my anchor locker project, I decided to cut some spare Dri-Deck into a locker-bottom liner -- mostly just to protect the gelcoat, but also to give a bit of air circulation. Anyway, I went up there to make a pattern, mentally visualizing a certain "decently sized" triangle... well, I had to laugh when the pattern proved said triangle to be about 3" per side! (This is in a 22, and right on the bottom of the locker.)

What is the fitting right at the stem that looks something like a through hull on a curved "stem" that's partway into the boat?
 
It's one of these, threaded onto the backside of one side of the bow eye bolt. I use it to tie off the end of the rode for safety.

Ah okay, thanks. I don't know why (as that is something I would expect to see there), but I just couldn't "see" it properly in the photo.

Reminds me that one thing on my to-do list is to replace the bow eye with a known/rated one (probably a Wichard) and add some backing to it. The original in my boat is of unknown provenance and ends in a gelcoated "mystery lump" inside the boat.
